Re: Elevation way off
It is my experience that many mapping sites have quite questionable elevation data. It can be bridges, tunnels, the mapping sites road follows the contour lines differently, or just plain bad data. I consider altimeter-based elevation data to be more reliable than GPS or mapping site data. Garmin un...

Re: ibike aero not displying slope in WKO+
That said, you are better off running it through iBike software to make sure nothing crazy happened such as a corrupted file. The iBike software does an outstanding job of catching speed spikes spikes, data hiccups, etc. that can happen here and there. It's not often, but like any other power meter...

Re: Heart rate strap water proof?
IMHO, I think Garmin just gave you the "safe" answer. Check out the DC Rainmaker site, I think I recall him saying that he will wear the Garmins straps while swimming.

Re: Troubleshooting help for new rechargeable mount
I can't recall if the rechargeable battery can go in the wrong way or not. I'd start by checking it is in properly, contacts are being made well to the battery and the ibike itself to the new mount.
Maybe a bum board in the new mount?

Re: Abnormally High Heart Rate on the Downhill?
1) I've done about 10 rides with my power dash and I'm noticing that on the downhills, my heart rate increases to something in the 220+ range for the duration of the downhill. Prior to the downhill, it's somewhere in the mid 100's, especially on this last ride yesterday. The mount seems to be solid...

Re: A whole lot of newbie questions
So many Q's scare off the best of us.... I'll tackle a few. Why the 5min outdoor acclimitisation? How important is this and what does it do? The difference between where I store my bike and outdoor temp would rarely be more then 10 degrees C so is this still important? Since the elevation is done vi...

Re: Condensation
It is my understanding that weatherproofing of iBike units has improved over time... not having ever had one apart, I don't know if water in the wind port would ever result in condensation on the screen or not. It is recommended that you not continue to use the unit in rain as it may cause eventual ...

Re: How to - Custom stem mount.
Very nice job. Thanks for the post. I have a similar issue with a Bontrager XXX carbon stem, although I think longer screws and some epoxy has been used by others for the Bontrager stem. Currently I use the handlebar mount since I don't use aero bars (at the moment at least), but I have the new rech...

Re: Crr help
I rode all of last year without a flat (well, went tubeless in April or so). I used Stan's rim tape, valve stems and Stan's latex sealant solution on 2 different Neuvation wheelsets without incident. No problems other than getting the tires on the rims was quite the challenge. I just upgraded to a S...

Re: Crr help
I use Hutchinson Fusion 2 tubeless tires and I just use a fixed Crr of 0.0055 which is what Boyd has recommend for the roads around here (Boyd is near Greenville, SC and I am in western NC). Personally, I would not really expect the tubeless tire to have significantly different rolling resistance. W...

Re: AUTO CAL WIND - ABORT
I don't wonder if you are registering a center button press somehow when this happens?
Hitting the center button during a Wind Cal will abort it.
If I am understanding you, this is occurring mid-ride when you turn off for a mid-ride break. Is that true? Or does it happen other times too?

Re: Batteries
Is there a way to quickly turn off the display? Thanks! See this tip - http://ibikeblog.com/?p=26 The Battery Screen can be a very useful tool for determining current battery charge and turning off your iBike. To enter the Battery Screen. From the Home Screen hold down the Top-Arrow for longer then...

Re: Garmin GSC-10 v. iBike Sensors
Garmin 500 doesn't have mapping capability but the Dakota, Oregon And 705 does. However out of the three only the 705 displays power readings. I think by the three you mean the Dakota, Oregon and 705, but just to clarify for others that may find this thread, the Garmin Edge 500 also does record pow...
