Re: Unexpected Ride Data File Type

I had it set to weekly and it wasn't a week since the last update! Set to daily now.

Thanks Tom.

All I have to do now is work out why I have turned into a low powered cycling Wus since I changed the Gen III for a Newton!

Re: Unexpected Ride Data File Type

I was using the 1.0.1 version so I have now updated!

Thanks mate, problem solved.

I wonder why Isaac didn't prompt me for a new download??

Unexpected Ride Data File Type

An error has just appeared with new Newton/Isaac files. Downloaded the Newton file (as a .ibr). When I tried to analyze in Analyze Route a box with "Unexpected Ride Data File Type" appears. If I click OK on this (2 times) I can analyze my route.

What am I doing wrong???

Cheers - PRS

Re: New ibike dash

Thanks for that info John - I didn't wish to rain on your parade and think the combination of iphone/ibike was a good piece of out of the box thinking (which I suppose was how the original iBike came into existance). Hopefully the company can grow in both of these two product areas. Well done Veloco...

Re: New ibike dash

Might appeal to some people, but I am happy (mostly) with the current iBke. I ride my bike to get away from the "real world" so the thought of seeing all my phone calls appear on my power meter is not something I want at all! Can we have a response from the iBike Team that they will contin...

Re: Maximum Power Level

Hi Chris, The W/kg was measured in the 20 min iBike fitness test. If you accept that the fact iBike gives reasonable power readings, when setup correctly, (Coach Boyd gave the OK on my set up data), and that I can read a bathroom scale (76 kg), then the W/kg is good number! By the way, I don't race ...

Re: Newbie Calibration Question

Thanks Coach!

Having everything set up well means I have no more excuses - I will have get out there and get some serious training started.

Re: Newbie Calibration Question

I have just upgraded from the Sport to the Pro, so I am new to the iBike Software. I went out this morning and did a new cal ride and lots of coast downs. I have attached the Profile File and a subsequent ride file. I was hoping that some of the members could take a look at the two files and give th...

Re: Maximum Power Level

Thanks for the input guys. I obviously am a bit of a wimp, Tom has 11 years on me and hits 715W! I don't race so maximum power numbers only affect my ego (or lack of it). My plan is to work some short term power intervals (storm up some little hills, etc) into my workouts and see if I can increase l...

Maximum Power Level

OK, so I have done my fitness test (3.41 W/kg - Level 4) and I am working on my intervals to try and raise Fitness Level. But, I was wondering what maximum, short term, power level should I be able to generate. Clicking the average/maximum button on my iBike after a typical 60 to 90 minute fast ride...

Re: New forum

As always, Coachboyd nails the issue. It is hard to back off the power up the hills, it almost feels as if I am not trying (and how can that be training!) and then I go down hill and I can't seem to try enough! I like the idea of user profiles, does that mean I have to upgrade my iBike Sport to a Pr...

Re: Review of iSport from a noob rider

Try a fat burning program. If you can not sustain the intervals then an error is possible. I was able to do a fat burning program, in fact I found it hard to stay at the required interval wattage, I was usually well above it (see other post). I was also able to average 2.95 W/kg over a 1.5hr ride. ...

Re: New forum

I am a new iBike user and have had some difficulty in doing "good" interval training. Most of the roads I ride on are undulating, some bigger hills (500+ ft elevation gain) and lots of smaller hills (100 ft elevation gain). So, I am riding along aiming for a specific target wattage and I f...

Re: Review of iSport from a noob rider

I am also a noob iSport user - Installed mine on Friday, played on Saturday and did a Fit Test on Sunday. I am 52 years young and 6 ft 3in 168lbs. I used to ride a lot 15 years ago (commuting and touring, no racing) but only got back into it last summer. Since then I have been doing 30 to 50 miles p...
