Re: How to get Isaac/Mac to work with macOS Big Sur
You can substitute an older MacOS version - Mojave or High Sierra for example - if one of them is more to your liking - installer files are a bit smaller by about 2 GB. The advantage of using a virtual OS is that you still have Big Sur running at the same time. The disadvantage is the space taken up...

Re: Question for Mac users re Catalina, Big Sur & Isaac
Just to let you know that VMWare Fusion has opted to provide a free version of their virtual operating system. So you could download that and install any of the previously available MacOS systems - and then install Isaac and the Velocomp bundle. I have both VMWare and Parallels with older MacOS vers...

Re: Is there anything I need to do post-calibration ride
You also mentioned that the PP will be used on more than one bike. It is crucial that the PP be returned to the exact same position on each respective bike that the calibration for that bike was conducted. So the PP does not have to be an identical orientation over the span of all bikes - just that ...

Re: Big Sur Support
I don't think so - It turns out the component software package is provided by Silicon Labs. Even though Velocomp does use some of the LabView software to create some of the Isaac application, the driver needed is the CP210x. If you go to the Silicon Labs site, there is just the message about still t...

Re: ISAAC MAC USERS: DO NOT UPGRADE TO MACOS BIG SUR!
There are a number of commercial users of the software packages provided by Silicon Labs that base their products on the Mac/Apple computer system. Visiting the Silicon Lab forums highlights those users and their combined irritation (mild description) that Si Labs has not yet released the needed dri...

Re: PowerPod v3 Issues - Is It The Button Issue?
When I first had my PP I had to figure out how to depress the button. It can be a bit tricky and I suspect that proper button action is not exactly the same - but close - for each unit - meaning some are easier to depress than others - or is ti just a "fat finger" effect? But that took jus...

Hold the button on the PP for about 4 seconds - LED will flash.
This resets the PP back into calibration mode - and then go back and start the calibration procedure.

Re: Can't calibrate powerpod v3
The Garmin needs to find a Power sensor - I suggest you read a bit more about operating the Garmin first and pairing a power meter to the Garmin, as well as other sensors. After that - you need to make sure that you go for a ride and follow the calibration procedure for the PowerPod. The LED flashes...

I took 2 cal rides today - back to back. But I cannot figure out how to get each one analyzed - when I read in the files Isaac picks just the last one. I wanted to do this to see how they would compare if taken in this manner - the same location and the same trail conditions. I have also bee noticin...

Re: New AeroPod/PowerPod CdA app for Garmin devices
One of the merits of beta testing to a reasonably broad audience is to minimize not only likely bugs, but to ensure that functionality meets expectations This includes interface requirements - Human User Interface is part of that - not just does this button perform. I am happy that the Garmin data f...

Re: Powerpod V3 causing drops in estimated cadence
So I finally have an example of this issue. I have a screen capture of Garmin Connect output from the ride - showing cadence lost at about 36 minutes for ~4 minutes - but power (only coming from PP3) that lasted about 1 minute - so I think there is some evidence that PP3 was seeing cadence === Howev...

Using PowerStroke to tune Saddle height
John - I have been experimenting with power stroke as a means to tune in a saddle height - basically riding the same stretch of trail over and over to get enough data at any particular setting, then making a 5-10 mm adjustment and repeating the same course. Any thoughts on what you might see - say t...

Re: Different Tire Sizes and Tire Pressure Change
I have gravel and road wheel sets for my new bike - AND I have a speed sensor unique to each wheel set - this eliminates any fiddling with ISAAC or otherwise. Each set has a different tire size, minor differences to the total weight. So by having the modest additional cost of another sensor, I just ...

The Garmin computers allow you to create your own panel. Currently, the suggested layout for the AeroPod app was described as 2 data views. The top (or Bottom) data was the aeropod 2x2 and the other could be your choice of anything else captured by the computer. The suggested data was POWER. It is e...

Re: low Fric unable to update profile
The best scenario is to leave the PP mounted on the bike and never move it or take it off. If you cannot do that - never move the mounting bracket on the bike and just take the PP off - but when you put it back on it needs to be tilted as far as possible (not moving the mounting bracket) so that it ...

What kind of cadence sensor are you using? If it is magnetic, perhaps the extra effort on the cranks is shifting the magnet out of range? Just a guess.

You might try removing the power channel in the Garmin sensor setup and researching for it. The gamin may select or find both a BLE and ANT+ version and you want the ANT+ channel - this information is in the sensor details. That was a problem I had when I first got my Edge 830. Also, double check wh...

The Garmin Beta site is organized by family of computer - Edge 830 is a different link than Edge 520 and so on - If you download a new firmware installer, which may be a beta, the dowloaded folder will contain a different file that will take you back to the last stable (non beta) version of the firm...
