Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset

I'll mount it in autumn and see what it does...

Re: Perceived effort turbo trainer vs outdoors

Thanks guys, I'll look into the option you mention. By the way Wattbike is £1865 here in the UK.

Re: Perceived effort turbo trainer vs outdoors

Just another thought Nik, given the need for a bigger flywheel to match indoor/outdoor FTP outputs can anybody recommend such turbo trainer that is on the iBike supported list? Did anybody hear about and tried the British designed Wattbike indoor trainer?

Perceived effort turbo trainer vs outdoors

Bit new to this I just wanted to get some comments from more experienced riders on this issue. I have two bikes and also train indoors on a turbo trainer. One bike is heavier alu framed winter bike and other carbon framed lighter fair weather bike which I just started using again. All are well calib...

Re: Can I believe these figures? Help please..

Tom, thanks, It's what I suspected, so I'll wait for some calmer conditions. My regular training ground is higher than surrounding terrain and fairly open so it does tend to get blasted by winds on occasions. As you say I'll keep the current profile until I find the right moment to redo cals.

Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset

Aaah OK now I see what you mean. I did buy the remote wind sensor but didn't bother to install it yet, and given the recent appearance of spring weather here in London, I'll probably wait until next autumn. By the way, are they any help in wet weather?

Re: Can I believe these figures? Help please..

Thanks for taking the time to clarify this for me Tom. I've copied your notes and will put my bike through the procedures you describe to check things out. On that cal ride I did, iBike was in the car and I did not wait for it to "aclimatise" itself to external temperature. Also it was ver...

Can I believe these figures? Help please..

Dear all, I have two bikes Kiron and Focus. Kiron winter bike with quite a few winter rides since getting iBike last year. Focus good weather carbon bike, just calibrated for iBike on Monday. It was a very windy day so after calibrating I went for a ride and recorded some of the best power results I...

Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset

Sorry Tom, I didn't quite get that...what do I need to do to correct for wind? I was planning to keep the iBike in the sandwich bag just before the ride, wake the unit up by pressing the centre button and wait for auto wind to finish calibrating while in the bag. Maybe I missed something...

Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset

Hi Tom, thanks for your post. A sandwich bag sounds like a good idea. I did notice condensation on the back of lcd window after one particularly wet ride and wasn't sure if this was due to drop in temperature or simply moisture getting into the unit. What do you do with the auto wind feature just af...

Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset

Hi everybody. I've been reading these posts with interest as my wind offsets calibrations involved blocking the front port of the iBike with my hand! Can one take the iBike from the mount and shield it inside jersey unzipped partially while zeroing the wind offset? I have a Gen III IBike Pro.
