Re: flashes and re-finds cadence, HR and speed
Roger...is the unit getting water or more importantly sweat between the unit and the mount? Is it placed directly beneath your head? I am just curious as I was having the exact same issues on any rides over an hour long...it turns out that the gasket in my unit was broken ... John and Company were a...

Hey...just wondering - did you enter the Crr yourself or was that the number that the iBike calculated on its own? Otherwise - I would tend to agree - the numbers do look pretty good...how do they compare to your first cal ride and coastdowns?

Just to let you know that I think John and company have come up with some ideas / solutions to the water issue...I too was having the same problem - as were a few others I think...and I was also having problems with water (sweat) getting in between the unit and the mount - and have had to jimmy my o...

Re: New to this ibike thing! Am I on the right track?
And don't worry about the weight of your bike - I have one of those fancy TT carbon bikes - Cervelo P3C with Dura Ace components - but heavy wheels - but all loaded up with water bottles (3 of them) - gear bag, etc....my precious Cervelo still weighs in at close to 23lbs with my Zipp 606 wheels - it...

Re: New to this ibike thing! Am I on the right track?
Tom ... on the calibration ride - if I ride past the 1mile mark and the iBike is saying to turn around - can I simply keep going and go an extra mile or two in the one direction and then turn around and complete the calibration ride - even if the unit told me to turn around at the 1 mile mark? Cheers!

Re: New to this ibike thing! Am I on the right track?
I too am an iBike newbie and I think I have loaded up Boyd and Aaron's "Inbox" with countless rides to look at to determine if they are "OK" to use. I am a bit "iffy" on how to determine if a set of particular numbers are "good" to use or not....I know that a ...

Re: Auto Trip Reset: Feature or Failure?
Great addition as far as I am concerned...I find the feature helpful in that I don't have to remember to trip reset. 4 hours (for me) is ample time before resetting.
Just my $0.02 - thanks.

Re: Sweat causing unit to blank out
Boyd...awesome idea! Much neater looking than my saran wrap attempt. I was finding that the sweat was actually entering the space between the unit and the mount. In speaking with John - the simple solution is to wrap tape around the connection area to block any sweat/water from getting in there - ho...

Re: Sweat causing unit to blank out
Well..Gen III is in at Velocomp to get gasket replaced - used my Gen II today on my pre-Ironman ride and it too died 2 hours into my ride - same problem - sweat getting in between the unit and mount.... sent off a note to Aaron (at Velocomp) to see if they can address the issue as I am sure I am not...

Re: Sweat causing unit to blank out
Hey there...it is in the battery compartment - between the mount and the unit. There is a clear circle that goes around the pins on the unit - it was broken..and sweat was getting in there - we "think" that might have been the problem - but I haven't gotten the unit back yet to confirm whe...

Hey Bex...you echo my concerns exactly - I know that I could use "whatever" numbers come up for my profile - but likewise - I am trying to do the fitness tests and use that data to do intervals - judge watts output on hill climbs etc. So I want to make sure it is as accurate as possible. I...

Re: Sweat causing unit to blank out
Just an update - found out that the gasket seal was broken which was causing water/sweat to get into the unit/mount area - so the boys at Velocomp were quick to point it out once I sent them a picture of the bottom of my unit - it has been sent in for a quick warranty repair - so hopefully it will b...

Re: Problems with calibration rides and coastdowns....
Hey there..yep, I do the coastdowns and cal ride in the aero position. iBike is stem mounted. Riding tilt is either -0.4% or -0.5% every time I get my results. Wind scaling is usually very close if not exactly the same.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Problems with calibration rides and coastdowns....
Just wondering why I might be having so many issues with my calibration rides and coastdowns. I follow the procedure outlined - do the wind offset, ride the 2 mile calibration ride and then immediately do 6-8 coastdowns on a pretty quiet street. Every time I have done the procedure I get very low Cd...

Sweat causing unit to blank out
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem - and/or if anyone has a good solution. Re: Where to Mount Unit on TT Bike with New Gizmo
Hey guys...I also have this new little unit with the RWS - however, I am finding that as I ride in the aero position - I sweat a lot over top of the unit - as such on 2 of my longer rides - there is a lot of sweat getting in between the mount and the unit - and it will konk out on the ride. Does any...

Hey MM.... Thanks so much for the tip - I'll give it a go tomorrow and see - I think you may be on to something though - as I have found that in the past as well - or else if I have been riding for about 10 minutes - it seems to drift to "0" much faster as well? But I like your suggestion....

Why can't I get a good wind offset easily?
Hey there...this is my only frustration so far with this wicked little unit. I have set up my profile and the data all looks good. However, whenever I try to do my wind offset prior to riding - it is taking me like 20-40 mins to get the numbers down to anything close to 0.0. A couple of things - 1 -...

Re: Oh No! I have a cracked case
I have a chipped case - it is possible to swap casing - or do you need to replace the entire unit? There is no fear of water entering the unit as of yet - so I would prefer to keep it until the end of the season and then get it replaced afterwards - advisable or no? I believe it chipped because the ...

Re: RWS -- keep it plugged in
I know it isn't a perm fix - but when I first got my RWS - it started to pop out all the time as well - so I just used some electrical tape to hold it in place - after a few hours - the tubing conformed to the shape and now the plug stays intact no worries. The setup works really good on my TT bike....

Coast Down in aero position or on bars?
Just have a question regarding coast downs. As a triathlete - I know that I should be riding aero as much as possible - however, as an Ironman athlete - it is rare that I would ride in the aero position for an entire race. And more often than not - my training is done from anywhere between 10-50% of...
