Re: Trainer Setting Doesn't Work when Using Fan
Thanks again John. Although, the tape solution did work swimmingly this morning. . . its just not very elegant solution.

Re: Trainer Setting Doesn't Work when Using Fan
BTW, my problems just started last month when I bought a new (more powerful) fan at the same time I upgraded to the new (more powerful) Newton. So, I figured it was the Newton causing the "new" problem. LOL

Re: Trainer Setting Doesn't Work when Using Fan
John, that is an outstanding solution and one that should seem very intuitive to users. As usual, iBike has outstanding customer focus and responsiveness which is yet another competitive advantage of your products Bravo!

Re: Trainer Setting Doesn't Work when Using Fan
So there is no possible way to use the iBike with a trainer and fan without putting tape over the port? That is amazing! This important fact is not in the owners manual. So, one needs to depend on tribal knowledge to do this basic function. I'm surprised more people haven't complained about it?

Re: Trainer Setting Doesn't Work when Using Fan
That seems like a very sub optimal workaround. How long does one have to block the intake port from air during the ride? It would seem that if the trainer mode is on it should actually be on. What are some good ways to block the intake port? There has to be an easier way as everyone uses a fan when ...

Trainer Setting Doesn't Work when Using Fan
I currently use the Newton+ and have had difficulty with the Trainer setting not seeming to work when I have my fan on. The iBike is definitely on the "Trainer On" setting, but, when I am using a fan it seems to be trying to calculate power from wind speed. I heard at one time that the iBi...

Trade in Instructions
Just received my new Newton tonight. Everything looks great! I did the trade-in option, but I didn't receive any instructions on how to mail my old iBike back to Velocomp. Was I supposed to receive some kind of envelope and form to mail it back??? Order #100085.
Thanks
David K

Re: Strange Wind Calibration Readings
Thanks for taking a look at the file. The power data from the ride looked OK. . . it was a hard tempo group ride with about 10-15 mph winds. My comment was more about the wind showing >20mph while in my windless garage. Sometimes even immediately after a few wind calibrations.

Strange Wind Calibration Readings
When I calibrate the wind on iBike, it almost always starts off showing >25mph wind speed (even inside my windless garage). Just a few minutes after the wind calibration it will, again, show wind speeds 10-20 mph inside my garage. Any thought on what may be causing it? File attached

Re: Single RIde broke down into 6 ride files
Thanks for the advise. It all makes sense. I have just never run into this situation and I've had the unit for 3 years. I'll just replace the battery more frequently in the winter

Single RIde broke down into 6 ride files
Today I did a 60 mile ride, but my iBike unit broke it down into 6 separate files. All the data was there. . . I just had to piece it together using "append." But, I've never had this happen before. What would cause this to occur and how does one prevent it? I put in a fresh battery the ni...

Re: What causing iBike Gen III to be reading too much Power
Thanks. . . I'll give it a try. I still don't get how the numbers looked so consistently accurate for so long and then became so consistently bad.

Re: What causing iBike Gen III to be reading too much Power
I've attached one of my recent solo rides showing what I believe to be too much power. Not attached is tonight's 35 mile club suffer-fest. The iBike would have me believe I held 390 watts for 20 minute during my peak. . . . There is NO WAY I can hold that! I am not sending this file because it was a...

Re: What causing iBike Gen III to be reading too much Power
Thanks for the ideas. I went back and compared files of older rides versus more recent and the Cda = 0.411 and Crr = 0.0064 were consistent.... I had made no changes. But, I think you are on to something when asked about the wind speed. Sure enough, on recent solo rides the wind speed is always more...

What causing iBike Gen III to be reading too much Power
My iBike Gen II has been working perfectly fine for months. Then, overnight, I began registering Watts that I know are far too high for my actual power output of each ride (registering about 25% too high). I can tell the iBike is off because my calories per mile for solo rides changed +25%, my peak ...

Swtiching between two bikes -- One Wireless, One Wired
I'm sure there is an easy answer to this, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. My iBike is used wirelessly on my road bike and I would like to use the same unit unit on my indoor trainer in a wired set up. I have all the hardware and the trainer profile loaded. However, when I go from the road bike...
