Re: ISAAC MAC USERS: DO NOT UPGRADE TO MACOS BIG SUR!

There are a number of commercial users of the software packages provided by Silicon Labs that base their products on the Mac/Apple computer system. Visiting the Silicon Lab forums highlights those users and their combined irritation (mild description) that Si Labs has not yet released the needed dr...

OK, so here's where we are: 1) You used the PH smartphone app (great!) to enter your profile data, got a message on the PH screen saying that the profile data was sent, but for some reason did not understand that that the profile data you entered and is displayed on the PH app screen is the data sto...

Re: ISAAC MAC USERS: DO NOT UPGRADE TO MACOS BIG SUR!

Wahoo uses an app to setup their computers. I don't think it was cheap but it is very slick to configure my bike computer using an app on my phone. I think you might attract more users if you had a phone app but it is your decision. Sadly, I sold my PP V3 and moved to Favero pedals because of the p...

Re: ISAAC MAC USERS: DO NOT UPGRADE TO MACOS BIG SUR!

The PP sends data via Bluetooth to a head unit? Why not use Bluetooth to the phone? There are already a lot of apps that receive and display our Bluetooth data, including our app PowerHouse Bike. Apps are not inexpensive to develop: we spent 6 figures on our app. And of course, after we created the...

Re: ISAAC MAC USERS: DO NOT UPGRADE TO MACOS BIG SUR!

Maybe now is the time for the phone app? The issue is: how to get data out of the PowerPod/AeroPod? Right now we use a USB cable. This is where the drivers are required. Going to phone-based data transfer would require a major overhaul of our electronics. You'd have to purchase a "V4" unit. And yes...

May be is time to change Isaac dependencies ;-) As far as we paid for Isaac for Mac, hope that this will be fixed soon. Three points: 1) It is impossible for us to write Isaac without using third party software. "Third party software" is code written by someone other than the developer. In our case...

Re: Question about wind speed data

I tried it with both the FIT file windspeed and the CSV file windspeed and never got results that made sense. During the process I did start to wonder whether a pitot tube at the front/center of the bike can measure accurate tail wind speed if the wind speed is greater than the bike speed. I don't ...

Hmm...csv wind speed data is averaged over 1 second or 5 seconds (I don't remember which); either would seem to be very minimal averaging for what you are trying to accomplish.

Re: Question about wind speed data

Sorry, I just stumbled across your post. My apologies for not responding until now. The wind speed recorded in the CSV file is the total opposing wind speed caused by bike motion and ground wind. Wind speed reported in ConnectIQ app is the ground wind speed (caused by nature and by drafting). Wind s...

If you have installed Big Sur, what then happens is that Isaac won't start. Note that you can still get your power data from your bike computer's download. We will let everyone know when we get the new drivers, which you will install on Big Sur. Then, Isaac will work. You aren't allowed to ride your...

There is a corruption in your unit's ride file system

Connect your unit to Isaac, then use this command to erase your ride files. Unfortunately you will lose the ride files stored in your unit, but this will fix the problem.

Re: PowerPod v3 can't connect to cadence sensor & high starting power

Your other bike is working just fine. Here is what I would do: 0) Connect your PP to Isaac, and make sure it is set to profile 2 (your "non cadence" bike) 1) For bike 2, the "non cadence" bike, place it physically at least 100 feet away from bike 1, your "good cadence" bike. 2) Awaken the speed, HR ...

Re: PowerPod v3 can't connect to cadence sensor & high starting power

The high watts at the very beginning is where PP is recalibrating itself to your different bike. This is normal and disappears in 90 seconds. If you want you can use Isaac to remove the first 90 seconds of the ride. Please post a ride file from your other bike, a file where you see cadence and HR da...

We are waiting for National Instruments, the maker of LabView, to issue an appropriate upgrade. Also, SiLabs, the maker of the CP210x driver we use, has not upgraded to Big Sur. Until these companies respond with updated drivers, our hands are completely tied. If you want Isaac to continue to run on...

For PowerStroke you need a separate, crank-mounted cadence sensor.

Cadence data added after the ride won't work.

Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data

PP interprets your increased speed as a result of increased power. It doesn't "know" you changed ride positions. The point is that your increased speed is effectively the result of 50W additional power in your usual ride position. I was unable to get PS to work. What kind of cadence sensor are you u...

Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data

Your wind calibration was grossly incorrect (constant headwind). Here is what I did, using the merged 43KM ride file: 1. I extracted your ride profile "Edit/Edit Profiles/Extract from Ride File" 2. I manually reduced the wind scaling factor (WSF) to about 1.2 (a guess), so that wind speed would be r...
