Angle of Newton Power Meter
Hi, i use the old school Newton Power Meter for my TT Bike. i havent used a remote wind sensor as i have the PM set up in the middle of my aerobars and i dont use any hydration systems in the aerobars. i raced Ironman 70.3 Gulf Coast on saturday, and my readings were off the chart, i had an avg watt...

Re: New user calibration check for TT bike
Your PowerPod is angled too high; the word "PowerPod" should be approximately level to the ground. You can rotate the PP to the "other" stop on the mount. That likely will improve things sufficiently. question, does this angle issue apply to the regular Ibike Newton as well? i h...

Re: Accuracy of Watts vs other PM
As regards your last 70.3 I have corrected for the difference in our weights (I weigh 10Kg more), which gives 291W and this doesn't sound unreasonable for what I'd expect for a 2:35. Maybe 10-15W higher, but I have gradually worked my way to a fairly extreme position. Doing the same to your friend'...

Re: Accuracy of Watts vs other PM
My readings seem too high at times as well, some things can be corrected, some I don't think can be. Correctable - don't use the IBike suggestions for Crr and CDA, they're probably too high causing larger power numbers than you're really pulling. With good tires (e.g., almost any 320 tpi tire, Cont...

Re: Accuracy of Watts vs other PM
@Velocomp sorry for the late reply Velocomp! attached my last FTP ride (july 2015). i also attached a more recent long ride (march 26). any thoughts? i understand that OFPM usually have a greater error margin than DFPM. but for example i completed a half-ironman last sunday, my bike leg time was 2:3...

Accuracy of Watts vs other PM
Hi, i know this is an old topic, but i have been talking with a couple of training buddies about the newton accuracy... while i find the Newton very consistent, when i compare my readings to other people using different brands of PM their readings are usually lower... according to my Newton my FTP r...

innacurate readings? TT setup without RWS
HI, i've been using the Ibike newton for a while now, but i just changed my TT bike fitting and, as a result, the position of my aerobars was modifed. i did a new cal ride but now my readings since higher than they should be... i am usually riding at what i feel is about 80%-85% but my readings show...
