Re: Re-calibration Necessary?

Whenever you move your Newton in a way that changes either its angle on the bike, or its position in the wind, it will require recalibration. Just to check, I have a RWS mounted (with which I performed the calibration ride a couple of years ago) which I now want to remove. Am I right in saying I do...

Re: View Active Topics

We recently upgraded to a new version of phpBB, which solved the login problem. I don't know about the other problem. I guess it caused this new problem John which is quite bad, it means the only way to look at currently active topics is to scan through the board index for modified dates which is v...

New Garmin Speed/Cadence Sensor

Hi Guys, Will ibike support this: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/05/garmins-spd-cad-magnetless-sensors.html I need a speed/cadence sensor for my new TT bike but Garmin have stopped making the GCS-10 unit I have fitted to all my other bikes. This is the bit of the review Im not sure about: Now it’s ...

Re: Powerstroke and rollers

I'm going to be doing a session tonight so I will post it up in the next few days. It will be interesting for me as its a session based around increasing cadence and I will be doing some intervals at a cadence I struggle to hold. Comparing the powerstroke movement to intervals that are at a steady ...

Tacx T1000 Antares Rollers

Hi,

Does anyone have a profile for Tacx T1000 Antares Rollers?

The Tacx T1000 Antares is really popular in Europe as it's a cheap but good product.

If we don't have a profile how would I go about making one? I don't own a DFPM as yet.

Thanks

Sounds great John, what's the 'other data' option in the configurable screens function? Does that mean we can add any other data of our choice? By the way, there is a review of ibike in the UKs premier cycling magazine this week 'cycling weekly'. It got 7 out if 10. The reviewer spent most of the sh...

Re: New Isaac 2.6.2 software

Version 2.6.2 has been released. Also the Peaks ...

Interval Workout Summary in Issac

Team Columbia

Hi Guys Great to see Team Columbia using the Newton on their team bikes in the Giro this year (and doing so well in the race too), and what great exposure for the product! Would be interested to hear some insight into how the team have been using it, e.g. do they perform coast-downs for each rider? ...

Crit Racing with the iBike

Rode my first crit with the iBike last week, really interesting data. ibikecrit.jpg Aside from the power data which is the primary focus I find it interesting to see how much I was drafting thereby saving energy and exactly where I left the main group to chase down breaks (shown as not drafting). Re: Positive Riding Tilt %

ok thanks John Its just that it leaves me with a very low friction figure of 0.872, but if you say its ok (and I understand this is calculated dynamically during the ride) I will accept the 0.3 from the check calibration ride. Any thoughts on why its gone from negative to positive? the only thing I ...

Positive Riding Tilt %

I read in the forum that Riding Tilt % should never be positive and yet I have just run 2 calibration rides + a check calibration on a new setup for my road bike, (which previously had a Riding Tilt % of -0.7) and I am getting 0.2, and 0.3. Could this be correct? The only thing that has changed on t...

Re: Dial-In Wizard Versus Set-Up Device Wizard

Guys in summary all I am asking is do people end up with 2 separate profiles in Issac if they run the Set-Up Device Wizard before the calibration ride as opposed to when the Dial-In Wizard fires up automatically after the calibration ride?

Am I the only one seeing this?

Thanks

Dial-In Wizard Versus Set-Up Device Wizard

Guys, there is something I still don't get here, maybe I am missing something, hopefully you can put me straight, here is the situation. Re: Calibration ride weight

Rider weight will have a minor effect on frictional watts calculations. It's best to change it in the Advanced tab of Edit Profile (VERY CAREFULLY; make sure the button to the right of Crr is on "Hold"), then send the profile to the Newton. Thanks John, so when I change weight in the anal...

Wind Calibration

Hi all, Big temperature increase in the UK this month and noticed that wind calibration is off, so calibrated it yesterday on my TT profile, but had to run it again on my road bike profile again today, so question is, does the wind scaling have to be done per profile or only once for the unit? Changing tyres

Hi all, Went for a ride on the new Olympic Velopark road circuit in London this week, and for the occasion I changed to Conti GP4000s tyres from Schwalbe Durano Plus. Mount Newton as a Drive

Does anyone know if it is possible to view Newton as a drive on Windows similar to the way you can if you plug in other USB devices like cameras and memory sticks?

I'm wondering if it's possible to view and copy the ride files directly within Windows.

Thanks

Re: Time Trialling with the iBike

I would use 10 seconds. It gives a nice, smooth number. Yes 10 seconds is good and the Time Trial Interval Workouts setting is exactly what you need displaying Average Watts, Current Watts and timer on one screen. By the way another very useful feature which surprisingly never gets mentioned is the...
