Re: Feature request - Screen customization

Yah, agreed. Still hoping an update will address this - for me displaying power, time, and HR would be ideal but agree a window alternating with cadence would be useful as well, I personally would alternate it with HR keeping power and time constantly visible. It looks like lots of new features/calc...

Re: Newton Display Configuration

Thanks, will try that. Guess I should have researched a little better what was available on the custom displays - I presumed I could put any of the gathered data in any of the available windows. I'm no computer surgeon but seems like that would not be too difficult and add some teeth to the customiz...

Newton Display Configuration

I just updated my Newton, anxious to be able to customize my display. Sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere but a search did not yield any answers. The main things useful to me for training purposes on a single display are Power, Heart Rate and Time - no particular order although I p...

Re: Tilt Cal R.I.P.

Mine hasn't worked for chit after the elimination the tilt cal. I have to Cal Ride before every single ride but IMO, the data then varies from ride to ride making actually training with power with this unit impossible. It's become a deal breaker for me.

Re: Not Getting It

Jumped on today to go do my workout, turned unit on, did a wind cal and took off - from my drive to the stop sign, about 100yds., in an easy spin, I was churning out 400W. Not working obviously. Had to do a cal ride again then did my workout but the numbers just don't match up remotely to those from...

Re: Not Getting It

Thanks for the ideas. I just went and did another Cal Ride before a light workout last night - seems like unit worked ok again. In theory I should be able to jump back on tomorrow, turn the unit on and go...no?? So far that is where my trouble seems to come from or the unit doesn't seem to give me g...

Not Getting It

After learning of new FW/SW/startup procedures I decided to start anew with a new profile/new calibration as I was just starting an 8 week training cycle. I charged up the unit, reset the data, opened profile 3, did a wind calc, then did the Cal Ride which went well, seemed to work fine. From there ...

Re: New FW and SW

After a ride last weekend, I plugged in to download the ride and got a message to install updates...so I downloaded/installed them but didn't pay any attention to what the updates might have been. Yesterday, I jumped back on the bike to go for a ride, went into Setup, did a wind calc, tried and trie...

Re: New Setup

Seems like it works OK. Maybe a little windy for a Cal Ride but data looks OK to me...??? Attached Cal Ride and little loop I did a couple times. Used two of these for the set up - pretty simple: http://www.amazon.com/Profile-Design-Universal-Computer-Mount/dp/B0028MUKBW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1...

New Setup

Went with new bar set up and just no way the Newton was going to see clean air without using RWS. Did some pondering and came up with this setup: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s55/dgfavor/DSC06143_zps5e295d8c.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s55/dgfavor/DSC06136_zpseccb2bda.jpg Seems dece...

Re: Feature Request

I was thinking the other day it would be kinda cool or convenient in the training modes to somehow scale ones FTP to equal 100 and the display to show your target watts and current watts on that scale...sure it's cool to look at bigger, actual numbers but my brain would process 85 as representing 85...

Re: Not Workin

My unit has been working flawlessly since I adjusted my cadence sensor - the sensor and magnet literally almost touch "at rest" for it to work consistently under power. Interesting to me that my ancient hand made Reynolds steel road bike seems to have less bottom bracket sway at power than...

Re: Not Workin

Thanks tons! When I was goofin around with the files I went into the Repair section...of course, I didn't think it was the cadence sensor so didn't mess with that!! When I was riding with my wife the other day getting frustrated, she pointed right at the speed and cadence sensors and said &quo...

Re: Not Workin

Thanks, I wondered about that but when I'd watch I never saw a cadence of zero - I was in a custom training program and cadence doesn't show up. I wonder if under load there is enough deflection it moves too far from the sensor?? Easy fix - we'll see. Thanks again.

Not Workin

I was real pleased with the Newton on my road bike - seemed to give me consistent numbers ride to ride (based on perceived exertion). I've been using it on my tri bike the last few weeks and initially it seemed to be working fine although my power output seemed significantly less than what I'd see o...

Re: RWS setup, cadence and speed sensor mounting

Thanks for the suggestions. Did Cal Ride today, rode down on the aero bars, and if I have this figured out I think the wind scaling was 1.19..?? I'll attach the file. Another quick question - when setting up Profiles, I did the initial Profile 1 for my road bike, riding predominantly on hoods. For P...

RWS setup, cadence and speed sensor mounting

I was setting up my Newton on my tri bike and planned to use the RWS setup. After mounting the unit on the stem it seems to me it will "see" the wind as well without the RWS as it will mounting the RWS in typical available locations. Thought I'd post a couple pics and see if folks think I'...

Re: Workin?

The dashes are a graph showing your instantaneous power. The number at the right shows the scale. If it shows, say, 400 then a full row of dashes is 400W and half a row is 200W Thanks much! Is it just a graphical reference of the number of watts above it then? When I did the pre-programmed workout ...

Workin?

Had my Newton about a week and no issues as far as I can tell. Data seems to make sense but it's my first foray with power data. Thought I'd post 20 min. Fit Test - see if data looks appropriate to those in the know or has any glaring glitches. Wicked head wind when I did it. One question - in the P...
